Your adventure begins at Hegra (Madain Saleh), once the southernmost settlement of the Nabataean Kingdom after Petra. Walk among 111 monumental tombs carved into sandstone mountains, most of which date back to the 1st century BCE–1st century CE. Your guide will share insights into the Nabataeans’ architectural brilliance and their advanced water systems.
Next, explore the Ottoman Hijaz Railway Station, a relic of the early 20th century that once connected Damascus to Medina.
Continue to Elephant Rock, a stunning geological formation that rises from the desert like a giant elephant frozen in time. It's one of AlUla's most photographed natural wonders – perfect for your travel album.
Then it's off to Jabal Ikmah, known as Saudi Arabia’s largest open-air library. Here, hundreds of inscriptions in early Arabic, Dadanitic, and Thamudic languages line the rock faces. Some inscriptions even date back to 644 CE, offering a rare glimpse into early Islamic and pre-Islamic history.
Just a short drive away lies Dadan, once a major trading hub and capital of powerful ancient kingdoms. Archaeological finds suggest this was a crossroads of civilizations, with influences from across Arabia.

Your tour leader and driver are private. However, the Hegra and Dadan site tours are conducted in small shared groups with certified local guides.
We recommend comfortable clothing suitable for desert conditions, and good walking shoes. Sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat are also a must.
We recommend booking at least 24 hours in advance, but we’ll do our best to accommodate last-minute requests!
